What a Great January...and more snow to come

Powder day?............Or maybe a powder month?

January meant big snow at ALL of our Vail Resorts' ski resorts and in turn very very happy skiers and riders. Did you experience it? Highlights from January include:

Heavenly- Over 10 FEET of snow fell in just one week and more followed for a total of 13-16 FEET in January, which means Heavenly had the snowiest month on record EVER, and the records go back to 1975-76.

Vail- January tied with this past December for the month with the most snowfall in the past 7 years, which means that between December and January, Vail received over 16 FEET of snow.

Beaver Creek- Beaver Creek recorded its snowiest December and January since 1996 with 183 inches- that's over 15 FEET of snow in just two months with 22 feet of snow season to date!

January at Keystone and Breckenridge wasn't far behind with over 5 FEET of snow at Breckenridge and almost 4 FEET at Keystone in January.

Plus, February has kept the powder coming at all of our resorts. All we can say is WOW, and we can't wait for what's shaping up to be an amazing spring! Snow totals for the first 5 days of February (2/1-2/5/08) are:

  • Heavenly: 37 inches (that's over 3 FEET!)
  • Vail: 30 inches
  • Beaver Creek: 29 inches
  • Breckenridge: 20 inches
  • Keystone: 13 inches
